Pashinyan Offered Opposition a Meeting to Discuss Artsakh Issue, They Declined
The newspaper 'Zhoghovurd' reports that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has proposed a meeting to the opposition factions in the National Assembly. According to information from 'Zhoghovurd', the wish for a meeting was conveyed by NA Speaker Alen Simonyan.
Simonyan's press secretary, Tuvinar Khachatryan, confirmed the information in a conversation with us, stating that Pashinyan suggested a discussion on the negotiating topic of Artsakh.
"Yes, this is yet another offer that the opposition has declined, insisting that the meeting be public. Public discussions take place, for example, during the Q&A sessions of the National Assembly's four-day sittings," she emphasized during our conversation.
The information was also confirmed by Agnessa Khmoyan, a member of the 'Hayastan' faction. "Yes, we have received such an offer as well; we will issue a more comprehensive additional statement," she noted.
According to our information, Pashinyan's offer to the opposition was made a few days ago. It remains unclear why they delayed announcing this.
