Masked Robbery at Grand Candy
On December 22, a robbery took place in Yerevan. At approximately 22:40, the Shengavit police department received a report that a large amount of money had been stolen from the Grand Candy factory on Hrant Vardanian Street.
According to shamshyan.com, the head of the Yerevan city police department, Sevan Kocharyan, along with the deputy head for operational issues, Arthur Zakaryan, and the head of the criminal investigation department, Vahe Mushegian, arrived at the scene. Also present were the head of the Shengavit police department, Karen Buniatyan, and a group from the investigative department of the Yerevan city investigative committee, led by investigator Melkonyan.
The State Security Service also brought assistance with the “Yakir” dog. Police and investigators discovered that on the same day, between 22:00 and 22:30, unknown individuals, with their faces covered by medical masks, entered the cash office of the factory and stole a significant amount of money before fleeing the scene.
A criminal case has been opened in the Shengavit investigative department regarding the incident. The police and investigative division are undertaking necessary operational and investigative actions to identify the individuals responsible for the crime and to recover the stolen money.
According to sources, approximately 15 million drams were stolen from the accounting department.
