Isabella Abgaryan: The Most Diligent, Knowledgeable, and Dedicated Members of the Council's Ruling Team Were Removed

Yerevan city council member Isabella Abgaryan wrote on her Facebook page: “I am being told that ‘Hayk’s life will be much better, he will live peacefully.’ With all due respect to Hayk Marutyan, it is not his issue that has upset me the most.

Yesterday, not only was Hayk Marutyan removed. Yesterday, the community interest and the voicing agenda of the Yerevan resident were dismissed as well. The most diligent, knowledgeable, and dedicated members of the council's ruling team were removed. Their loss cannot benefit the community; instead, it will harm it by thoroughly eliminating the desire for participation in state and community life for many.

When you say ‘it’s nothing, it’s legal,’ I want to ask a question: Imagine you work in a hospital where the best doctors among your colleagues are dismissed or conditions are created for them to leave, making it impossible for them to work. They are replaced by newcomers who still need to study anatomy for a long time before they can perform surgeries. This is the exact situation in the Yerevan City Council. Is this normal? How would you feel if you were an employee of that hospital? Would you feel at ease for the patients as well?”
