Gunshots Heard at Komitas 'Yerevan City' Parking Lot; Detentions Reported
On December 23rd, gunshots were heard in Yerevan. At approximately 6:15 PM, the Arabkir police received reports of gunfire at the parking lot of the 'Yerevan City' shopping center located on Komitas Avenue.
According to Shamshyan.com, several citizens gathered at the scene, who refused to speak on camera, told a correspondent from SHAMSHYAN.com, "Around 6 PM, four people were arguing in the parking lot of 'Yerevan City' over the parking of a vehicle. One of them started firing several shots with a weapon. Fortunately, no one was injured, and it was good that the Arabkir police arrived quickly and took them away after laying them on the asphalt. They were hot-headed young men. If the police had delayed even a little, people might have been injured or bodies collected, and it wasn't ruled out that innocent bystanders could have been harmed due to the gunfire."
According to G. Shamshyan’s information, the shots were fired from a 'Walter' type pistol, and the argument occurred between residents of Yerevan and people from the provinces, with two individuals on each side.
Materials are being prepared by the Arabkir police concerning the incident.
