24-Year-Old Driver Hits Pedestrian in Yerevan
On December 22, an accident occurred in Yerevan. Around 08:00, 24-year-old Vrej P. was driving his Opel vehicle when he hit a pedestrian, 69-year-old Svetlana Ch. on Z. Sarkavag Street.
According to photographer Gagik Shamshyan, the driver did not flee the scene and assisted the injured pedestrian in being transported to the Mikhayelyan Institute of Surgery Hospital.
Police patrol officers from the 2nd platoon of the 2nd battalion of the Yerevan Police arrived promptly on the scene, led by battalion commander Levon Badalyan, deputy commander David Nikoghosyan, and platoon commander Roman Mirzakhanyan.
The information about the accident was passed on to the traffic accident investigation and administrative proceedings division of the Yerevan Police, from where a duty group arrived headed by the division chief Grigor Avetisyan and senior investigator Artom Babikyan.
