“I have not expressed distrust towards Haik Marutyan; I have simply given my consent to that. I have had no issues with Haik Marutyan, and we have worked very well together,” said mayoral candidate Hratchya Sargsyan in a conversation with journalists, adding that he is satisfied with Haik Marutyan's work.

In response to a journalist's question about on what conscience he will be replacing Haik Marutyan, he reacted: “With the conscience that the programs we initiated in 2018 need to be implemented. Our electoral program has a timeline of 5 years, and there are still 2 years left. Our state has gone through many trials in the last three years, but we have recorded successes, of which you are aware.”

Hratchya Sargsyan noted that there is a crisis between the government and the council, and he has given his consent for the resolution of this crisis. When asked if he would refuse his salary, Hratchya Sargsyan sharply responded no: “My only source of income is my salary; I have no other source,” he said. He also stated that he has not had a separate meeting with Nikol Pashinyan and will not be joining the 'Civil Contract' party.
