Pashinyan and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Hold Meeting
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today received Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk. The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Armenia, Sergey Kopirkin.
The intergovernmental delegation led by the Russian Deputy Prime Minister is in Yerevan as part of the Armenian-Russian Economic Cooperation Intergovernmental Commission meeting. Welcoming the guests, Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the importance of holding the 20th session of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation and wished success to the commission's work.
The Russian Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the reception and noted that bilateral contacts have been quite intense this year, with several business missions and representatives of Russian businesses visiting Armenia, greatly interested in working there.
Nikol Pashinyan and Alexei Overchuk discussed issues related to the agenda of Armenian-Russian cooperation and economic ties. They touched upon the trade turnover volumes for the year 2021 and noted with satisfaction the recorded growth in this direction. Both sides emphasized the need for comprehensive efforts to develop trade-economic and investment cooperation and to fully realize the existing potential in the sector.
The parties exchanged views on the prospects for restoring transport communications in the South Caucasus region and the activities of the trilateral working group led by the Deputy Prime Ministers of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan.
