Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the presidential award ceremony for culture and arts, during which he emphasized the significance of "soft power."

“The tools that we describe as 'soft power' can, if necessary, become more effective means than military power, technological power, or financial power. Today, technological internet-based tools have been added to these. The identity of those who govern the content of the internet has become much more important in the world than who possesses an atomic bomb,” Erdoğan stated, pointing out that the most powerful weapons of the leaders of the global system today are music, cinema, literature, fashion, and cultural tools.
