Impassable Roads, Black Ice: Situation in the Republic

The Road Department Foundation reports that as of December 22 at 8:00 PM, the Gorayk-Sisian section is impassable for vehicles with trailers.

There is black ice in some areas of the roads in the regions of Spitak, Vanadzor, Stepanavan, Abovyan, Gavarr, Vayk, Sisian, Goris, and Ashotsk, as well as on the Horom-Artik-Alagyaz road.

The Vardenyats Pass is passable for light vehicles, while it is impassable for heavy and trailer vehicles. Drivers of vehicles with trailers are advised to use snow chains when traversing the Vardenyats Pass.

Road construction teams are conducting clearing and salting operations on the roads. All international and national significance roads are open.
