Citizen Beaten and Robbed on Parpeci Street
The Investigative Committee of Armenia is conducting investigative and other procedural actions in the case of a robbery committed against a citizen of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Center and Norq-Marash investigative departments of Yerevan.
According to preliminary data, a report was received from an Armenian citizen stating that near a restaurant on Parpeci Street in Yerevan, he was assaulted, and his phone and bag were stolen.
It should be noted that near the mentioned address, on December 20, 2021, around midnight, individuals who allegedly committed the crime, threatened the citizen with a knife and stole his bag, which contained clothing, books, a mobile phone, and 650 US dollars.
A criminal case has been initiated in the Center and Norq-Marash investigative departments of Yerevan under the first and fourth points of Part 2 of Article 175 of the RA Criminal Code. The Iranian citizen has been recognized as a victim and has been interrogated regarding the circumstances of the case.
During the pre-investigation phase, an inspection of the scene was conducted with the participation of the victim, and video recordings from the surveillance cameras available at the scene were collected. A forensic medical examination has been appointed. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
Measures are being taken to ensure an objective and comprehensive investigation, to clarify all the circumstances of the case, to identify the individuals who committed the robbery against the Iranian citizen, and to present them to the prosecuting body. Instructions have been given to the investigative body.
