Beware of Facebook Scammers

According to SHAMSHYAN.com, the investigative department of the Vardenis Police is preparing materials regarding a case of fraud. As photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reports, the materials are being prepared based on a complaint by 38-year-old Gagik H. from the Lori region. He approached the Vardenis police and reported that a Facebook user contacted him, claiming that assistance was being provided to those displaced by the Artsakh war and large families, with packages weighing up to 50 kg, providing the name and phone number of a person purportedly acting as a courier.

Gagik H. contacted the provided phone number and stated that he has five minor children. The person informed Gagik H. that to facilitate the transportation of the packages, he needed to transfer 7,600 drams for each package to the specified phone number.
