Beeline Founder and Philanthropist Dmitry Zimin Passes Away
Dmitry Zimin, the founder and philanthropist behind Beeline, has passed away at the age of 88. This was reported by RBC.
It is noted that he had been seriously ill in recent months. Zimin founded VimpelCom (brand name Beeline) in 1992 and served as the company’s CEO until 2001.
The news of Zimin’s death was shared by his son, Boris Zimin. According to his son, the businessman died in Switzerland. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Previously, Zimin was included in Forbes' ranking of Russia's richest businessmen, with his wealth estimated at $520 million in 2005.
