Animals and Insects Allowed into Food Preparation Areas, Operations Suspended

The operations of the meat processing facility owned by 'Golden Choice' LLC in Yerevan have been suspended by decision of the head of the RA Food Safety Inspection Body. This decision is based on the results of supervisory actions conducted by inspectors from the Yerevan Center of the Inspection Body, which documented inadequate sanitary and hygienic conditions at the facility.

Specifically, the technological process at the facility was not organized in a manner that would prevent the cross-flow of raw materials, semi-finished products, and prepared food. The production, auxiliary, and domestic sinks were not maintained in a clean, repaired, and proper condition. Washing and disinfecting agents were stored in the same area as food products. The domestic sink was not equipped with a changing room, and no measures were taken to prevent the entry of animals and insects into food preparation, processing, storage, and transportation areas, as well as to combat pests. The packaging process was not conducted under conditions to exclude food contamination.

A deadline has been set for remedying the violations.
