The Meeting Will Not Take Place: What Are The 'My Step' Members Thinking?

The newspaper 'Joxovurd' reports that 'Sessions of the Yerevan City Council are scheduled for today and tomorrow. On December 21, the members of the Yerevan Council are expected to discuss the upcoming 2022 budget. The next day, December 22, according to the official website of the municipality, the council will discuss the issue of expressing no confidence in the mayor, Hayk Marutyan.

'In accordance with Article 40, parts 1 and 4 of the Law on Local Self-Government in the City of Yerevan, a session of the Yerevan City Council will be held on December 22, 2021, at 10:00 AM, with the agenda item: 'Draft Decision on Expressing No Confidence in the Mayor of Yerevan, Hayk Marutyan,' the municipality's statement reads.

'According to information from 'Joxovurd,' today’s session, where the 2022 budget is to be discussed, may not take place. 'It seems that the council members will not show up, and there will be no quorum. The primary issue for 'My Step' now is the process of expressing no confidence in Marutyan,' said one of the council members.'
