A New Wave of Repressions Expected in Talin: 'Hraparak'

The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports: 'In the Talin community of the Aragatsotn region, the inauguration of Tavoros Sapehyan has been thwarted due to a unified boycott of three opposition forces yesterday. As a result of the pressure from the criminal authority Rustam Stepanyan, known as Chagh Rustam, Tavoros Sapehyan, who was elected mayor with the sole vote of Karen Grigoryan, is unable to assume the powers of the community leader in accordance with the law.

The issue is that Karen Grigoryan, the first candidate on the 'Hayk' list, did not attend yesterday's meeting, and the session could not take place due to the lack of a quorum. It remains unclear how the council will operate with this composition going forward.

On the other hand, the three factions, 'Zartonq', 'Mer Hamaynq', and 'Hayk', have appealed to the court contesting Sapehyan's 'illegal' election. According to a joint statement from the three parties, the member of the My Step alliance, Tavoros Sapehyan, should not have been elected as the community leader since he was not nominated by the faction. If the court approves the petition, then, by the force of law, their candidate will become the mayor. Of course, this is if the authorities do not carry out new repressions.'
