30-Year-Old Woman from Lori Cashes and Spends Her Friend's $13,500
The investigation into a criminal case regarding the embezzlement of a particularly large sum by a 30-year-old woman has concluded at the Lori Regional Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee. This was reported by the RA Investigative Committee.
According to the information obtained during the investigation, a 63-year-old resident of Vanadzor sold her apartment for $13,500 and deposited that amount in one of the banks in Armenia. She authorized her 30-year-old friend to manage the deposit with the aim of sending her to Russia.
Between June 2019 and June 2020, the 30-year-old friend cashed out and embezzled the entrusted deposit amounting to 6,461,307 drams, equivalent to $13,500, and spent it on personal needs.
Based on a sufficient combination of evidence, charges were brought against the 30-year-old woman under the first part of the third paragraph of Article 179 of the RA Criminal Code. The investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been sent to the prosecutor overseeing the legality of the criminal proceedings with an accusative conclusion.
