Such Actions by Officers Cannot and Should Not Be Tolerated: Vanetsyan

The former Director of the National Security Service, Artur Vanetsyan, has sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of the NSS employee day, which we present below:

“Dear officers of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, esteemed veterans, dear friends, I sincerely congratulate you on this important and significant professional holiday.

As a long-serving officer of the NSS of Armenia, as a former head of this agency, and as a comrade and brother in arms, I would like to emphasize on this crucial occasion that the security bodies of Armenia and their employees must always act as one united and cohesive family, continuing the glorious traditions that we have always had as soldiers of our homeland's security.

Recently, unfortunately, we have witnessed some unacceptable actions by certain employees, including officers, that tarnish the honor of the officer’s badge and cast a shadow over the reputation of the entire National Security Service. Such dangerous phenomena must be excluded from the National Security Service; the actions of such officers cannot and should not be tolerated, especially by colleagues within the system.

Regardless of the nature of the current authorities, the political environment, and processes, we must always remember that our knowledge and capabilities should be dedicated exclusively to ensuring the national and state security of Armenia and Artsakh, as we have been taught and raised in that spirit – to serve solely our Homeland.

From the bottom of my heart, I wish you all good health, safe and successful service, and numerous personal and professional successes for the rebirth and security of our homeland and nation. I am honored.”
