Road Closures and Difficult Access Due to Ice: Situation in the Republic

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed roads in the territory of the Republic of Armenia.

The road from Amberd Fortress to Lake Kari in Aragatsotn Province is closed. The road from Zovuni village to Korea Gorge is temporarily closed due to the risk of landslides.

The Vardenyats Pass is open for all vehicles, but drivers of trucks with trailers are advised to use tire chains.

The Toros-Vardaghbyur road in Shirak Province is difficult to pass for trucks. There are patches of black ice on the Aparan-Aragats road in Aragatsotn Province.

Regarding the Lars situation, based on information from the Emergencies Ministry of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
