‘My Step’ Faction to Boycott Tomorrow’s Yerevan City Council Meeting

The ‘My Step’ faction of the Yerevan City Council will not participate in the council meeting scheduled for tomorrow, December 21. This was stated in a press release issued by the faction. The reason is political disagreements with Mayor Hayk Marutyan.

“Taking into account the existing political crisis between the Yerevan City Council and the Yerevan Mayor, the ‘My Step’ faction will not participate in the regular council meeting scheduled for December 21 at 11:00 AM,” the statement reads.

“At the same time, considering that important issues are on the agenda, such as the 2022 budget of Yerevan, development programs, and several other important projects, we would like to inform that after the election of a new mayor on December 22, an extraordinary council meeting will be convened before the end of the year, where the aforementioned projects will be discussed and adopted,” the statement mentions.
