In Amasia, the CP did not take the mandates

At the first session of the enlarged community council of Amasia, Gemma Harutyunyan, the candidate of the "Arpi Amasia" alliance, was elected community leader with 9 votes in favor and no votes against. The CP has refused to take the mandates of council members, believing that this would lead to new elections. However, the "Arpi Amasia" alliance and the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) have taken their mandates and, together having over 50 percent of the votes, elected Gemma Harutyunyan as mayor.

Gemma Harutyunyan clarified to News.am that 6 members of the council from her faction and 3 members from the RPA voted for her. "The 'Arpi Amasia' alliance had 6 mandates, the RPA had 3 mandates. There was an election, and all 9 votes were given to me, I was elected without any 'against' votes. As for the CP not taking their mandates, I cannot answer that question. Yes, we had made an official announcement about forming a coalition with the CP, but it was not fixed by a document. Later, they did not want to work with us. Essentially, members of the CP will not be part of the council, they did not take their 6 mandates. They have refused with their entire list of 32 individuals," she stated.

In Amasia, the CP received 1,217 votes, the "Arpi Amasia" alliance received 1,200 votes, and the RPA received 750 votes.
