Azerbaijanis Plan to Open Casinos in Occupied Artsakh Territories

During today’s session of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, Gudrat Hasanguliyev, the Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy and State Building, proposed to open casinos in the occupied territories of Artsakh and in Zangezur while discussing a new bill on tourism.

He stated that Azerbaijan's geographical position allows for the inclusion of recreational tourism in the proposed legislation. “In Russia, this includes certain areas. We can do the same in Azerbaijan. For instance, we can allow casinos to open in Nagorno-Karabakh and Zangezur, thus attracting tourists,” Hasanguliyev said.

Several Telegram channels also rushed to report that for Aliyev, Artsakh is merely a means for money laundering and new profits, with no talk of higher ideals.
