No Issues with Available Vaccines in Armenia at the Moment: Deputy Minister
Everything should be done to maintain the activity of vaccinations. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Health, Artak Jumayan, during an interview with journalists on December 18 in Gyumri. According to Armenpress, the Deputy Minister was in the Shirak region to familiarize himself with the vaccination process.
As part of his visit, Artak Jumayan visited several healthcare facilities in Gyumri, observed the work of specialists carrying out COVID-19 vaccinations, and emphasized the importance of accessibility to primary health care services along with conducting more extensive awareness-raising activities among the population.
In a conversation with journalists, the Deputy Minister noted that the government is doing everything possible to protect the public, stating that there is a sufficient quantity of vaccines available in the country and that high vaccination coverage is essential since vaccination is the main means of preventing severe disease and mortality.
“Taking advantage of the decrease in disease numbers, we should use this opportunity to carry out more vaccinations so that we are prepared for the next waves of the pandemic. At the moment, we have no issues with any available vaccines in Armenia; all are accessible,” emphasized the Deputy Minister of Health, Artak Jumayan. In the Shirak region, as of December 16, a total of 65,550 residents have received their first dose.
