The opening of a railway line in Laos has made it possible to travel by train from Lisbon to Singapore. According to TASS agency, the world's longest railway route in history, measuring 18,755 km, can now be traversed in three weeks.
It is noted that China has completed the construction of the 414 km missing section of the railway in Laos, which connects the southern Chinese city of Kunming to Vietnam, as part of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative.
Investments for the project were made over five years and totaled $6 billion.
