Why the BHK Joined the CP Regarding Marutyan

«Hraparak» writes: The BHK faction of the Yerevan City Council announced yesterday that they will join the process of expressing no confidence in Hayk Marutyan. This behavior seems strange at first glance since the BHK operates from an opposition position and explicitly stated in Abovyan that they would not join the CP. However, in this case, they are joining. The alignment of interests is quite understandable, and BHK leader Gagik Tsarukyan has personally made this political decision to join the process of toppling Marutyan, despite some opposition within the BHK faction.

The reason behind Tsarukyan's decision is quite simple: since the day he became mayor, “Kargin Hayko” has been taking steps against Tsarukyan and his initiatives. In particular, he has not granted construction permits and has done everything to suspend the construction of a hotel near “Kinomoskva.” He disrupted the implementation of plans by Arab sheikhs, sabotaged negotiations on the pretext of being on the phone and wearing jeans, leading to the abandonment of significant investments in Yerevan and the cancellation of plans to build a large hospital.

However, it is also possible that during the closed-secret voting on expressing no confidence in Marutyan, BHK members may not vote against Hayko and sabotage the authorities' initiative, especially since there is a similar disposition within “My Step” as well.
