Operators Apologize to Alen Simonyan and Return Chairs to Their Place
The newspaper «Hraparak» reports that the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, while passing through a small foyer designated for journalists, turned back to photograph the seated operators and then instructed the Assembly staff to remove the chairs intended for journalists from the foyer.
We asked Simonyan’s spokesperson, Tzoynar Khachatryan, to clarify this step. She stated that “the operators were seated inappropriately on the chairs, which is why they were removed.” What do you mean by ‘inappropriately’? Khachatryan said she could not describe it but added that a meeting had taken place with the President of the Assembly at the operators' request, they apologized, and the chairs were returned to their place.
It remains to be seen whether the President of the Assembly will be equally attentive to those sitting in the Assembly hall who stretch out on chairs and disregard their colleagues.
