Our Citizens Are Living Better Amid High Inflation Than a Year or Two Ago: Keryan

We are genuinely concerned about the level of inflation, stated the Minister of Economy of Armenia, Vahan Keryan, in a conversation with reporters after the government meeting.

“Both in the domestic market and with our EAEU partners, we are trying to find tools to curb inflation. The EAEU has established preferential customs tariff quotas for certain goods, which will provide the opportunity for those product groups to have restrained inflation,” the minister said.

He noted that work is ongoing with the Central Bank and the Competition Protection Commission to use available tools to curb inflation.

“I must say that this year we are experiencing real economic growth, which is much more than expected, and this allows us to say that our citizens are living better even amid such high inflation than they were a year or two ago,” Keryan added.
