Putin Ranks Among World's Most Respected Men

Russian President Vladimir Putin has been included in the top 10 of the world’s most respected men for 2021, securing the ninth position, according to results from a survey conducted by YouGov.

The ranking of the most respected men and women was again led by former U.S. President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle.

Other figures in the top 10 most respected men include Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Chinese President Xi Jinping, football players Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, actor Jackie Chan, billionaire and SpaceX founder Elon Musk, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Alibaba founder Jack Ma.

In the list of the most respected women, notable names include actress and UN Special Envoy Angelina Jolie, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, television host Oprah Winfrey, actresses Scarlett Johansson, Emma Watson, Priyanka Chopra, singer Taylor Swift, former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and human rights activist Malala Yousafzai.

The survey was conducted in the spring of this year, with participation from over 42,000 people across 38 countries and territories.
