Major Car Accident in Kotayk Province: Niva Crashes into MAZ, Injuries Reported

Today, December 14, a major car accident occurred in Kotayk Province. Around 16:00, two vehicles collided at the beginning of Garni village: a VAZ 2121 driven by 59-year-old Anahit I. and a MAZ driven by 41-year-old Agvan M.

According to Shamshyan.com, as a result of the accident, the driver of the Niva and his passenger, 54-year-old Vardan S. from Kotayk Province, were transported to the number 1 university hospital with bodily injuries.

Emergency responders from the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ number 18 firefighting-rescue unit promptly arrived at the scene, disabling the vehicles and securing the area.

The injured received first aid from doctors of the Garni village medical ambulatory before being taken to the hospital.

Officers from the road police’s 2nd battalion, 3rd company, led by commander Arthur Petrosyan and company commander Tigran Kotanjyan, also arrived at the scene. Investigative work at the site was managed by senior investigator Mayis Badoyan, who is preparing materials on the incident.
