Kocharian on Special Representatives Appointed in Armenia and Turkey and Their Discussion Topics

Chavushoglu, bluntly stated that there is a need to talk with Armenia, and that both sides have appointed representatives for discussions. This was said by Andranik Kocharyan, a member of the ruling Civil Contract party, during a conversation with reporters, in response to the statement by the Turkish Foreign Minister that special representatives will be appointed for the normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey.

As for who the Armenian representative will be, Kocharyan noted that when the name of that person is announced, journalists will have the opportunity to receive answers to their questions right at the beginning of the process.

In response to the question of whether it is possible for the relations between the two countries to be normalized at the expense of satisfying Turkey's proposed corridor demand, Andranik Kocharyan said, “There is no Turkish corridor; every day you receive assurances that the issue of a corridor is not being discussed.” The deputy added that discussions regarding issues related to the region will be within the main framework of Armenian-Turkish relations.
