Storm in Kentucky Claims More Than 100 Lives
The Governor of Kentucky, Andy Beshear, spoke on CBS about the consequences of one of the most dangerous storms in U.S. history, according to Gazeta.ru.
“This is a disaster the likes of which no one has ever seen. As far as I know, we have lost more than 80 people, but the death toll will exceed one hundred,” the governor stated.
Beshear noted that entire towns have been devastated. “My father’s hometown has been half destroyed. It is hard for me to describe that,” he added.
Reports indicate that the roof of a candle factory in Mayfield has collapsed, trapping more than 100 people inside. The governor indicated that rescuers have not found any survivors in the rubble for several days.
