“People are getting on the new bus, they are not getting on ours”: Bus Drivers

“Let the mayor come so we can solve our issues with him,” say the striking drivers in a conversation with reporters, outlining the issues they want to discuss with Hayk Marutyan.

When asked why they chose to go on strike today, they responded that the decision was unexpected. According to the drivers, one of the reasons is the reduction in wages, and these new buses, which operate under a different system, are “hitting their business.”

“People are getting on the new bus, they are not getting on ours, while there is a plan set for us,” the drivers complained, demanding a return to the previous payment system, when they received “black” income from fares.

It should be noted that since early morning, city transport drivers in Yerevan have been on strike at the Djurjvazh bus depot, demanding improved conditions, particularly a wage increase. The drivers are calling for a meeting with the mayor.
