Is the Civil Contract Discussing the Replacement of Hayk Marutyan? Eduard Aghajanyan Comments
During a traditional press briefing in the National Assembly today, Eduard Aghajanyan, a deputy from the Civil Contract faction, stated that the issue of replacing the Mayor of Yerevan has not been discussed within their political team.
Aghajanyan reminded that the Mayor of Yerevan is elected for a specific term. “This term has not yet expired, and there are no discussions about prematurely terminating the mayor's powers. This is only possible through the procedure established by law. For example, if the mayor himself resigns or if the Council of Elders votes him out of confidence,” said Aghajanyan.
Moreover, he promised to inform reporters if such an issue is included in their agenda.
