People Internally Feel That They Are Just Being Treated as ‘Idiots’: Arman Abovyan
It is interesting to observe how the authorities manage to calm down the information flow by skillfully diverting people's attention from real issues under the noise of fabricated and fragmented information. This was stated by former MP Arman Abovyan on his Facebook page.
“It is interesting to observe how the authorities manage to calm down the information flow by skillfully diverting people's attention from real issues under the noise of fabricated and fragmented information. The implementation of apolitical, uneducated, anti-national projects and the slow dismantling of the country occurs under the pleasant slogans of 'peace' and unrealistic, false calls of 'the future'. Have you noticed that the governmental pyramid has only two unchanging yet contradictory visions? One is that all disasters, calamities, and the phased collapse of the state are the fault of everyone around, while they themselves are innocent, naive, bright-eyed 'servants of the people’ being manipulated by all the 'bad' elements. The second is that they are the all-knowing, professional, honest, cute, intelligent, modern, and democratic government which cannot be deceived or confused.
It goes without saying that both theses are merely mechanisms for creating a propagandistic image, which currently works within certain circles of people. However, this cannot last long, as one can fool people for a certain period, but I assure you, that cannot last forever. People inwardly feel that they are indeed just being treated as ‘idiots’ and are simply being used.
This is referred to in social psychology as 'the positive self-justification of negative actions.' To ensure that this mechanism works, the authorities employ a very common trick by constantly creating tension in the internal political and social spheres, thus preventing people from focusing on the whole picture. As a result, the authorities will not allow people to adequately assess the situation and react to threats. For example, the issue of captives. I remind you that during the elections, the authorities classified the captives as 'heroes and brothers', while now they classify them as desertors and anti-heroes. Now the question arises... what is the reason for this 180-degree turn by the authorities? Hmmm... to be continued…”
