Increase in Deaths in the Military Caused by Acute Disciplinary Issues, Tigran Abrahamyan

According to Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the National Assembly from the “Honorary” faction, the rise in death cases due to violations of safety regulations, suicides, and fatal shootings by fellow servicemen in the military is primarily linked to acute disciplinary issues, the quality of relations between officers and soldiers, and the insufficient level of ideological work.

“In a structure continuously facing blows from high state echelons, a different situation could not have been expected. There are also other deeper reasons, which I will refrain from discussing for now,” wrote the deputy.

He noted that we cannot expect regulation on such priority issues because “those in power lack the will, and the individuals leading the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff are occupied with completely different types of work.”

“Primarily domestic political in nature; they have neither the time nor the expertise to resolve such issues,” emphasized Abrahamyan.

It should be reminded that on December 10, around 19:30, a conscript soldier, Private Senik Ashoti Arzumanyan (born 2002), received a fatal gunshot wound from fellow servicemen’s fire in one of the military units located in the southern direction of the Republic of Armenia. Two other servicemen were also injured.
