Protesters Announce They Will Block the Route of Ambulance Transporting Wounded Soldier: MoD

As already reported, on December 9, following provocations carried out by Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the eastern direction of Armenia, the Armenian side has two servicemen with light gunshot wounds.

On the same day, in the evening, a group of citizens protesting over internal political issues in Gegharkunik region blocked the road leading from Vardenis to the capital, having learned in advance that shortly an ambulance transporting one of the wounded to the Central Clinical Military Hospital in Yerevan would pass through that road. They announced to the deputy commander of the military unit that they would obstruct the movement of the mentioned vehicle.

As a result, the ambulance had to reach Yerevan via a detour, significantly delaying the provision of timely and necessary medical assistance to the serviceman.

The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia deems this incident unacceptable and reminds that the armed forces remain out of politics and carry out their functions of ensuring the security of the Republic of Armenia in a 24-hour regime. Obstructing the provision of medical assistance to servicemen injured while defending the homeland is beyond all moral boundaries, regardless of any justification.
