Police Officer Strikes Pedestrian Crossing at Unauthorized Area in Yerevan; Victim Hospitalized

On December 10, a traffic accident occurred in Yerevan. Around 19:20, a Skoda vehicle struck a female pedestrian crossing the street at an unauthorized location on Melkounov Street.

According to Shamshyan.com, the driver did not flee the scene and called for an ambulance via the Armenian emergency services number 1-03. He assisted in transporting the injured pedestrian to the Armenia Medical Center with the help of the promptly arriving ambulance. Following this, he reported the incident to the operational management center of the Armenian police.

Materials are being prepared regarding the incident as the police are in the process of identifying both the driver and the victim. The photojournalist reports that the Skoda vehicle is registered under the Yerevan patrol police division, and the driver works as an officer in that unit.
