Charchyan Released

The first instance court, presided over by Judge Vahe Misakyan, decided to release Armenian National Assembly "Hayastan" faction member and former director of Izmirlian Medical Center, Armen Charchyan.

It is noteworthy that yesterday the Constitutional Court published its ruling based on the application of the "Hayastan" faction regarding the immunity of lawmakers. "The Constitutional Court literally stated that an individual without the status of a legislator, who is in custody, cannot be kept in custody from the moment he acquires the status of a legislator. Our colleagues were unlawfully held in custody for all these months, and now they must be released immediately. The high court has ensured constitutional justice this time," wrote Aram Vardevanyan, a member of the "Hayastan" faction.
