When Will the Christmas Tree Lights Be Turned On? Clarification from the Municipality
The installation of the main Christmas tree in the Republic Square of Armenia has been underway for several days. It is noteworthy that this year there will be no festive decorations in the city. This was announced by the Yerevan municipality a week ago, stating that this year they will only limit themselves to the main tree in the square and some trees in the administrative districts.
It is worth reminding that last year, no Christmas tree was installed and no festive decorations were set up due to the war.
ArmDaily.am contacted the spokesperson for the Yerevan Municipality, Hakob Karapetyan, to clarify when the lights on the Christmas tree will be turned on and whether the annual official ceremony will take place this year. "The lights on the main Christmas tree in the Republic Square will be lit when it is fully installed and decorated, which is approximately in the last ten days of December," Karapetyan said in an interview with the media.
Regarding the official ceremony for turning on the lights, Karapetyan stated, "We have already announced that this ceremony will not take place."
