‘They did everything possible, but justice prevailed’: According to Abovyan, winning in Abovyan was a principled issue for the CP

The CP was hanging by a thread, doing everything possible to change the election results in Abovyan, but justice prevailed. Arman Abovyan, a member of the BHK, stated this in an interview with ‘Factinfo’.

It is noteworthy that the recount conducted at the request of the CP in the Abovyan community has concluded, resulting in the CP losing 15 votes while the BHK gained 8 additional votes.

According to Arman Abovyan, the residents of Abovyan have already expressed their will with their votes and must reconcile with this: ‘I don’t know whose brilliant idea it was to suggest that the CP hang by a thread and what they hoped to achieve, but everything backfired completely; they are now in shock. This was a principled issue for them, but the people of Abovyan clearly showed how things really are, and not coming to terms with that reality is at least disrespectful to the citizens of Abovyan. We saw that they did everything possible, but justice still prevailed,’ Abovyan remarked.

Just months ago, during the snap parliamentary elections, the BHK lost to the CP in the Abovyan community, but with the results of the local elections, BHK candidate Eduard Babayan achieved a stunning victory over the CP candidate.

According to Arman Abovyan, after the snap parliamentary elections, public sentiment has changed significantly: ‘Citizens chose the CP, then compared our activities with that of that force, and we saw the consequences.’
