VIDEO: The Brawl Was Pre-Planned and Ordered from Another Building
The leader of the 'Hayastan' faction, Seyran Ohanyan, addressed the incident that occurred in the National Assembly yesterday at the start of today’s parliamentary session. He stated that what took place was yet another act of hooliganism initiated and participated in by the ruling party’s lawmakers.
"They attempted to settle scores with three individuals and did so in a cowardly, base manner, attacking with dozens of people. During the incident, the police, responsible for ensuring safety, acted passively," Ohanyan mentioned.
He emphasized that the brawl was pre-planned and ordered from another building. "If the ruling power wants to establish a regime of hooliganism, they are on the right track. If they wish to further discredit state institutions, they have chosen the correct path, and if they aim to divert public attention from the issues concerning the Syunik corridor, disgraceful statements about prisoners, and the reporting on budget misappropriation, as well as the government’s response to Russia regarding Artsakh, then they will not succeed in that," the opposition faction leader stated.
Seyran Ohanyan stressed that this incident will not be forgotten and they are waiting for a response from the authorities.
It is noteworthy that according to reports, three assistants of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation were summoned to the office of the Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly, Ruben Rubinyan, where ruling party members Hratchya Hakobyan, Sisak Gabrielyan, Vahagn Aleksanyan, and several others attacked the representatives of the Federation and assaulted them.
The Prosecutor General's Office has referred publications regarding the brawl that took place in the National Assembly to the National Security Service to prepare relevant materials.
