VIDEO: One of the Participants of the Brawl is Linked to an Assassination Attempt Against Mirzoyan, Hakhobyan Says
The ruling "Civil Contract" party member Hrachya Hakhobyan did not wish to comment on the brawl that took place in the National Assembly on December 7. In response to journalists' questions, he stated that he had already spoken about the incident during a media broadcast on that day.
"I can briefly say the following: that young man, whose name I believe is Gagarin, is not to blame. His superiors, his political fathers are to blame for bringing him here. I have information that he is involved in an assassination attempt against Ararat Mirzoyan (Minister of Foreign Affairs) and another criminal case," said Hakhobyan, condemning the employment of such a person in Parliament.
Earlier, during an impromptu conversation with journalists, MP Aram Vardevanyan from the "Armenia" faction detailed that the incident occurred in the office of National Assembly Vice President Ruben Rubinyan. The MP insisted that representatives of the ruling party invited the assistants of opposition MPs to Vice President Rubinyan's office under the pretext of drinking coffee, after which they were organizedly attacked.
The prosecutor's office is reviewing publications regarding the brawl that occurred in the National Assembly. The materials have been sent to the National Security Service for preparation of necessary documentation.
