Details from the Accident in Yerevan: Casualties and Hospitalizations
On December 8, at 17:08, the National Crisis Management Centre received a report that an accident had occurred on Shiraz Street in Yerevan. Three fire-rescue teams from the Fire and Rescue Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, along with an operational group from the National Crisis Management Centre, were dispatched to the scene.
It was found that a freight truck of the brand “Iveco” collided with a “Mercedes-Benz E-Class” vehicle, causing the latter to catch fire. The fire was contained by 17:25 and extinguished by 17:35. The “Mercedes-Benz E-Class” was completely burnt; rescuers discovered the body of the vehicle's driver on the sidewalk.
The rescuers disconnected the power supply from the vehicles and, together with bystanders, freed the trapped driver from the “Iveco” truck, bringing him to the ambulance. The driver of the freight truck and a passenger were hospitalized at “Erebuni” Medical Center.
