Alen Simonyan Becomes Azerbaijan's Advocate: A Group of Parents of Missing Persons Camped Out by Parliament

We haven't gone home since yesterday; we've spent the whole night here. This was stated in an interview with NEWS.am by Arsen Ghukasyan, a relative of a missing serviceman.

“We saw several deputies enter the National Assembly. The specific issue concerned Alen Simonyan’s statements. Naturally, they are trying to present that he didn’t mean that, that he meant something else, and so on. Let no one answer on his behalf; he said it himself, and he should come and provide the answer. I have a lot to say to him, and I'll say it right to his face when he comes,” he remarked.

Commenting on the clarification by National Assembly President Alen Simonyan, which stated that soldiers who left their weapons to flee, got lost, and became captives should face criminal liability, Ghukasyan said, “He should refrain from giving evaluations; he is unaware of what happened there. He should be informed, know everything, and then provide his evaluations. His statement that there are no captives for him means that we have no captives, which is like sending a message to Azerbaijan, telling them that these captives are of no use to him, do whatever you want. He automatically becomes Azerbaijan's advocate for annihilating our children over there. Those who are currently in captivity, he directly states that they are of no use to him, do whatever you wish. Is he burying my child without seeing the body? There’s no such thing; let him come and answer. Who gave him the right to bury my child without seeing the body?”

It is worth noting that this morning, a large number of police have been stationed near the entrance to the National Assembly.
