“I chaired the session, I am not aware of anything,” said MP Hakob Arshakyan in a conversation with reporters regarding the brawl that took place in the National Assembly.

Recall that just earlier, there was a profanity-laced brawl in the National Assembly. According to eyewitnesses, several members of the ruling party attacked the assistants of opposition MPs. An assistant to Ishkhan Saghatelyan stated in an interview that the incident occurred in the office of the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Ruben Rubinyan.

“I was heading to our office when I heard the sound of breaking. I realized that our guys must have been there, and I ran to see them in a distressing situation, apparently engaged in a conversation in the room; they had gathered to beat up the boys. It was Hrachya Hakobyan, Vahagn Alexanyan, and Sisak Gabrielyan that I saw on my way. I rushed in as I was alone because they were beating our boys, and no one was attending to anything else. If I hadn’t asked for help, none of our guys would have come to the aid of Taron Ghazaryan, who was separately pulled aside and beaten by the MPs,” he recounted.

Eyewitnesses reported that they only saw the youth from the Dashnak party being assaulted, but they did not know what had transpired. The members of the police special forces did not intervene in the fight. An eyewitness explained that the incident took place in Ruben Rubinyan's office. Opposition MPs were not participants in the incident. They assert that Gyarasim Vardanyan, the assistant of Armenuhi Kyureghyan, and the assistant of Ishkhan Saghatelyan were present at the scene.

“I saw that our boys were attacked by 100 people, and in the end, they took our boys out, they only beat Taron Ghazaryan separately.” At the same time, sounds of insults were heard from the corridors, while security personnel had closed the doors in front of the reporters.
