Turkey to Develop Own System Exceeding Russian S-400
The Turkish Siper air defense system will be capable of surpassing the well-known Russian S-400 missile system, stated Ismail Demir, head of the defense industry department, as reported by Sabah.
According to Demir, Turkey is nearing the completion of the Siper air defense system's development. “We believe that this system will reach the level of the S-400 air defense system or even exceed it,” he said.
In October, Ismail Demir announced that Turkey would develop its own analog of the Russian S-400 Triumf system in the coming years. “We currently have HİSAR A+ and HİSAR O+ air defense systems with a range of up to 20 kilometers. We will create an air defense complex with a range of up to 100 kilometers. After that, we will upgrade those specifications in the SİPER system. We are gradually moving towards the development of an analog of the S-400,” he stated.
