Residents of Tsovagyugh and Semyonovka Did Not Participate in Elections, Oppose Joining Sevan

On December 5, it became known that the residents of Tsovagyugh and Semyonovka communities in Gegharkunik Province did not participate in the local self-governance elections for the enlarged Sevan community.

The reason for their non-participation is due to the government's decision to include Tsovagyugh and Semyonovka in the enlarged Sevan community. David Mnatsakanyan, the interim head of the Semyonovka community, struggled to state whether it would be possible to prevent these communities from being included in Sevan. "I don't know, the process will show," he told 24News.

"The population does not want to join Sevan; they want Tsovagyugh and Semyonovka to unite with each other," the community head noted.

It is noteworthy that according to the Central Electoral Commission data, the alliance of the 'Sargsyan Muradyan' party gathered 9,769 votes (79.02%), the 'Armenian Revolutionary Federation' party received 1,414 votes (11.44%), and the 'Republic' party garnered 1,178 votes (9.53%).
