Missing Soldier: A Person Can Disappear Like an Ant in Armenia

On November 16, the day when military operations resumed in Syunik, we reported that contract soldier Vahe Manukyan went missing. Notably, Vahe's brother, Hayk Manukyan, who called the editorial office of "Hraparak," clarified that his brother had gone missing five days prior to those events after reporting for combat duty.

“After speaking with him, he disappeared, and we cannot reach him. I called the Ministry of Defense; they say search operations are underway. We reached out to the Human Rights Defender's Office, and there's no news. We call every day, but they cut us off. His wife went to the military unit, and they said he is not there,” he stated.

The news outlet confirmed today with the soldier’s wife that nearly a month after the incident, the soldier has yet to be found, and the Ministry of Defense has said nothing except for “wait” while the Red Cross office is only now starting to provide support.
