Has Jalal Harutyunyan undergone surgery today? ArmDaily

According to information received by ArmDaily.am, Jalal Harutyunyan, former Minister of Defense of Artsakh and currently the head of the Military Inspection Service of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, underwent surgery this morning at the National Burn Center.

We tried to confirm this information with the Ministry of Defense of Armenia and the press secretary of the Artsakh Defense Army; however, our calls went unanswered in both cases.

Arthur Berberyan, the acting head of the National Burn Center, stated in a conversation with ArmDaily.am that they cannot provide information about their visitors and patients. “Jalal Harutyunyan and several other servicemen, Armenian citizens, have been our patients to some extent. Therefore, regarding their health, based on the confidentiality of personal data, we do not disclose such information, especially when similar inquiries come from the media, as it is exclusively the citizen's and patient's right and obligation to say or not to say – that is their right. We do not disclose such confidential information,” said Berberyan.

The acting head of the Burn Center noted that personal confidentiality of their visitors and patients constitutes medical confidentiality. “We are not authorized to disclose people's personal and medical secrets,” added Arthur Berberyan.

It is worth mentioning that Jalal Harutyunyan was severely injured during the war and has undergone numerous surgeries since then.
