Criminal Case Opened for Gunfire Towards Residential House by Azerbaijanis

The Artsakh Investigative Committee has accepted the case regarding the shooting towards a residential house owned by M.A. in the village of Mkhitarashen in the Askeran region. This incident occurred on November 13, 2021, between 02:00 and 04:00, from an Azerbaijani military position located near the city of Shushi.

According to the information, an unknown Azerbaijani serviceman or servicemen fired towards the house driven by motives of national hatred, with direct intent to kill two or more individuals. However, the act did not result in completion due to M.A. and his family members being in another room at that moment, thereby unintentionally avoiding the crime. The case has been initiated under points 1 and 14 of the second part of Article 33-103 of the Criminal Code of Artsakh for causing property damage.

The investigation is ongoing.

Note: The suspect in the alleged crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of Artsakh and by a court decision that has entered into legal force.
