Every state official in Armenia must be aware of the weight and consequences of their words, says Aghajanyan
We consider the killing of a peaceful resident in Artsakh to be problematic. This was stated by Edward Aghajanyan, the chairman of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, during a conversation with journalists.
“All processes in which Armenia participates are primarily aimed at stopping such incidents as soon as possible, to lead to real de-escalation, and to ensure that such events are excluded in the future. This is the primary goal of the Armenian government, for which all possible tools are being utilized. In every format of meetings, the main and most important subjects of discussion are the border security and inviolability of Armenia, as well as the safety of our citizens,” said the MP.
In response to the question of why Armenia does not officially state that official visits to Artsakh will be conducted because it is Armenian territory and Azerbaijan cannot make such demands, Edward Aghajanyan noted that at first glance, it may seem that Armenia should make statements that would be acceptable or desirable to some public circles.
“We must realize that any statement made by any governing body is fraught with specific consequences, and every state official in Armenia must be fully aware of the weight and implications of their words before uttering even a single letter,” Aghajanyan emphasized.
